Mirror’s Edge raises the standard for action-adventure games, and will definitely surprise in a pleasant way. The overall game is much more fun than its predecessor.

Judging by the players’ feedback so far, the improvements do take the game to the next level, the combat scenes are excellent and the overall game is very good:

Bringing back Mirror’s Edge, our design vision has been a truly unique first-person experience based on movement, helmed by an iconic heroine. Now it’s time to hand that vision over to you. […]

Now, go explore the city of Glass. Jump into the story of Faith and the people around her. Go head to head with KrugerSec, unlock new moves and attacks, master the MAG Rope. Take on Dashes, create your own Time Trials.

You can download Mirror’s Edge Catalyst from the Xbox Store for $59.99.

I freaking love the combat. It has a degree of skill involved and when done correctly is downright boss. This is an easy 8 or 9/10 for me with the only drawback being the story. It takes a lot from the Orwellian 1984 playbook, adds in elements of backstory from the first game and boom. From what I’ve played so far, that’s it. The rest of the game, however is more than good enough to earn it high scores. Especially with a Team Fortress-like game pulling perfect scores. […] Mirror’s Edge is much better and gives you much more for your money IMO.
