Those of you that use Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge should now be thrilled to know that some functionality changes are on the way.
As you may already know, when moving a tab between two different windows that belong to the same browser, you do it via drag-and-drop. However, you can only do this to one tab at a time.
This can be a bit time-consuming, especially when time is a commodity, and the number of tabs is too great.
You will soon move multiple tabs in Chromium
In a recent commit on the official Chromium forums, a new feature was revealed to the public:
Thanks to these changes, you can move multiple tabs at once between windows. Additionally, pinned tabs will not be unpinned during the transfer.
Move tab to new window supports multiple selection Adds support for moving multiple tabs to a new window from the tab context menu. Also correctly handles pinned tabs, preserving their pinned state in the new window. Since multiple tabs now can be moved, the string was changed to pluralize “tab” to “tabs” when necessary.
Unfortunately, no further information was given as to when will this new feature be introduced in live versions. However, Chromium live builds quickly follow development builds, so users should be using this new feature in the near future.
