MTN Uganda is the leading mobile money service provider with the most subscribers when it comes to making monetary transactions. In a bid to keep their customers close, the company has updated its mobile money charges on sending money to MTN subscribers, and to other networks, as well as on withdrawing money from your account.
These updates shall take effect on Thursday, the 15th of June, 2017.
Sending Money to MTN Subscribers
The mobile charges on transactions between 500 Ugx and 60,000 Ugx have been reduced. There is an increment when it comes to sending money between 60,001 Ugx and 500,000 Ugx; while the rates for transactions above 500,000 Ugx have dropped.
Sending Money to non MTN Subscribers
Here, the beneficiaries are those that will send larger sums of money, with an almost 40% reduction on charges for sending money above 125,000 Ugx. There is also a drop on rates when sending between 15,000 Ugx and 125,000 Ugx.
Charges on withdraw from Agent
These have mostly remained the same, though the available updates are increments. The charges on withdrawing between 250,000 Ugx and 1,000,000 Ugx have raised.
