At the beginning of each year, Microsoft tell us where the company’s most popular products are heading. One of the upcoming additions for Microsoft Office that stands out from other new features is the ability to invite individual people to Office 365 groups.
With this new feature, moderators of a group can send an invite link to other users. The invite link can be emailed, or copied and pasted anywhere else. Users who receive the link will be able to automatically join public groups or join private groups with the group owner’s approval.
As Microsoft says this feature is for now only available on Outlook on Web. We have no further information about when and whether it will be available to other parts of the Office suite. As this feature is already available in the vast majority of other services, we can say that it was about time for Microsoft to implement it into Outlook.
We are introducing a new feature for group users to create an invite link for any group they are part of and share it with others. The invite link can be emailed or can be copied and pasted to any other channels. The users who click on this invite link will join the public group automatically and will join private groups on approval from group owners. This feature is available only on Outlook on Web.
Most likely, Microsoft will roll out this feature to Office Insiders in the near future, so keep an eye on the latest Office builds.
