Sooner than later, it will be harder to masquerade as an IT service provider or practitioner in Uganda. The National Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U), a body charged with regulating IT in Uganda has initiated a drive to certify all ICT service providers, training institutions and practitioners in Uganda.

The Draft National Information Technology (IT) Certification Framework is aimed at ensuring IT service providers, IT Education and Training institutions and IT professionals conform to minimum acceptable standards thereby ensuring quality delivery of IT services in the country. This registration will facilitate the process of certification of IT service providers to operate in Uganda and also enhance their capacity to operate internationally.

Starting with the financial year 2015/16, all IT service providers to government should have been registered and certified by NITA-U. If you are currently supplying any government department with ICT services, you must have registered before the next financial year. Registration has commenced and is expected to run till 28th February 2015.

In preparation for the roll out of the framework NITA-U is conducting mass registration of all IT Service providers, IT Training Institutions and IT Professionals in the country. You can use the links below to register as an individual, service provider or training institution.
