Office 2021 was recently released by Microsoft. It is the latest one-time purchase option for desktop apps like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, since the release of Office 2019. This new edition comes with new apps like the Microsoft Teams app. And in this article, we are going to take a look at the new Office 2021 and all of its other new features.

Office 2021: New Features

1. Co-author Documents

With Office 2021, you now have something called real-time co-authoring. It allows users to work with others on the same document. With real-time co-authoring, you do not need to send extra emails to collaborators because everyone will be notified when a doc is updated. This feature is available in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

2. Better Collaboration With Modern Comments

This new feature lets users have control of when they send comments to other contributors on a document. And with the consistent commenting experience between Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, you can be sure of productivity.

3. Know Who’s in Your Document

Just like with Google docs, you can now see who else is working along with you on any of the office packages (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and where they are in the document.

4. Dark Mode

Office 2021 offers a new type of dark mode. Previously, what you get is Word with a dark ribbon and toolbars, but the document color stayed bright white. The new Dark Mode offers a dark canvas as well.

5. New and Improved Record Slide Show

In PowerPoint, you can now record your presentation (Slide Show) using video and audio, with ink recording and laser pointer recording functionalities.

At the top of any of the Microsoft Office apps on Windows, you’ll find the new Microsoft Search box. You can use this tool to quickly find whatever you need. Including text, commands, as well as functionalities.
