Using OneDrive for collaborations is even better now thanks to a new Share option coming this summer compatible with Windows 10 and macOS.

Share documents via OneDrive

Of Microsoft’s various cloud solutions, the OneDrive cloud storage service may be the most popular one and also the most familiar to the average PS user. OneDrive is Microsoft’s competitor for Google Drive, Dropbox, and other cloud storage options out there and is the main way to share files and documents through Microsoft’s Office 365 productivity service.

OneDrive set to receive new file-sharing options this summer

Microsoft recently revealed OneDrive Files On-Demand. The update will make your entire list of files available on a system without taking up local storage space, an important improvement to the OneDrive service by offering users a simplified sharing option.

Share Office 365 files straight from File Explorer

While users were able to share files and documents via OneDrive before, they had to go to the web or needed to use an application to send a file or link. Now, users will enjoy the possibility of sharing Office 365 files straight from File Explorer on a Windows PC or from the Finder on a Mac.

The new feature will also allow you to edit a file when you share it or to share files only with specific people or groups of people and will be an important addition that will let you enjoy a more natural experience while sharing files as you will not have to work outside your traditional desktop workflow to do so.

The new Share experience will be compatible with Windows 10 and older versions of the OS as well as macOS.
