As we mentioned in a previous article, Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition was slated for release on March 11 on both Xbox One and Windows 10. But, unfortunately, it seems that the game has been delayed for Windows 10 and Steam as the developers need more time for it.

First announced during Gamescom in August 2015, the Definitive Edition will bring new areas, game mechanics, new artwork, and even new abilities. The original version of Ori and the Blind Forest launched on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows on March 11th, 2015, so the Definitive Edition was supposed to launch exactly a year after.

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition delayed on Windows 10

John Callaham from WindowsCentral discovered that Microsoft Studios’ Mark Coates said the following about the delay:

However, the official trailer has been released, and you can watch it at the end of this article. A fresh new release date hasn’t been provided for the game, but we hope fans won’t have to wait too much.

“We also wanted to provide an update about the release of the definitive edition on Steam and Windows 10. Yes, we did announce a release date of March 11th. But to make sure everyone who plays Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition gets a great experience regardless of platform, we’re taking a bit of extra time with the Windows Store and Steam versions. We will launch the Xbox One version on March 11, and will update you soon on when the other versions will launch. We can’t wait to get the final game in the hands of players and see their reaction!”

The Xbox One version will still get released on March 11, but at the moment we don’t know what exactly will be the differences between all the platforms. Stay tuned as we will be keeping an eye out to learn more about the official release.
