There are few games as popular as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds at the moment.
Even if you don’t like the genre, you can’t deny that the game has a large following behind it and a bright future ahead of it.
If you spend a lot of time playing video games and you’re connected to the video game scene, you most likely already know about this game, which has been a major sensation this year.
It has definitely become an integral part of streaming culture, as it remains one of the most followed games being played on Twitch.tv.
PUBG expanding to culture
In recent statements, the team behind the game has announced that the game will be making its way to the Xbox One console.
This is great news for console players which will have the opportunity to enjoy the game on home field.
Gameplay differences are usually pretty significant between playing on a computer and playing on an Xbox, so having the option of playing on a console will definitely be appreciated.
Staying oldschool
Today, many video games with a similar format to that of PUBG go without a physical CD version. With platforms like Steam available, developers see less and less of a reason to invest in mass production of CDs.
With that being said, the devs behind PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds have stated that there will be a physical disc for the Xbox One.
There are gamers out there who love nothing more than to be able to display their disc cases as part of their gaming collection, so being able to add this tremendous success to the shelf is a big win for them.
Getting into PUBG
This is a game that is easy to learn but hard to master. While it might take you just a couple of matches before you are adjusted to what’s required of you in-game, you will need a lot more in order to reveal all the different details and elements of finesse that are needed in order to rank higher up the ladder.
In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the player is launched into a world alongside the other people in the session. They are literally thrown out from a plane, giving the option of choosing where they can land.
The game is based around survival and scavenging resources found around the world.
Whether you’re looking in an abandoned warehouse or someone’s actual house, you are sure to find a helmet, backpack and all kinds of useful things.
The tricky part is making sure you and your resources get out safely, as the other players will never be too far behind. Player vs. Player action is inevitable as everyone fights for survival.
There is also an “end of the world” element, as players have to rush to the “safe zone” marked on their maps.
Failing to do so will leave them trapped in a toxic area which will kill them slowly and painfully. The last one standing is declared the winner for that session.
The game follows an intriguing concept, and is a polished iteration of other similar games that have surfaced previously. With that said, it’s definitely worth the physical disc and will no doubt find a place in many Xbox gamers’ collection.
