While OLED displays could replace the traditional LCD as the preferred panel for many consumers soon, the technology is facing competition from the Quantum Dot panel. Quantum Dot technology offers an alternative to OLEDs with its equally impressive accuracy and vibrant colors. Samsung, one of the manufacturers at the forefront of Quantum dot display technology, has just announced a new display featuring quantum dot: the CH711 Quantum Dot Curved monitor.

Samsung will exhibit the new display at the upcoming CES 2017 in Las Vegas this week, along with the recently launched CFG70 and CF791 Quantum Dot display monitors. The CH711 Quantum Dot Curved monitor comes in two size variants, namely the 27 and 31.5-inch displays. CH711 shows off an accurate color reproduction with 125% sRGB color coverage and a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution.

Seoggi Kim, senior vice president of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business, stated:

CH711 sports a 360° design to provide a better viewing angle and boasts boundless design to help viewers focus on the image. The display also uses a 1,800R curvature and an ultra-side 178°viewing angle. Tucked away inside the monitor’s stand are the power and HDMI cables, which make for an even cleaner design.

Today’s multimedia consumers, quite rightly, have high expectations and demand a truly cutting edge, totally immersive experience that realizes the full potential of whatever they are playing or watching. This year’s line-up of curved Quantum Dot monitors offers brilliant design, richer color and deeper contrast than ever before.

Samsung will also offer CES attendees a glimpse of Samsung’s next generation of high-resolution monitors, namely the 28-inch UH750 and 23.8 and 27-inch SH850. The company plans to roll out these monitors in early 2017.

The 28-inch UH750 monitor will have an ultrafast 1 m/s response time, Quantum Dot picture display and high-quality UHD resolution. The monitor also features a slim, narrow bezel design. The 23.8 and 27-inch SH850 variants, on the other hand, pack a WQHD resolution and DP daisy-chain connectivity.
