The world is moving to the cloud and majority of Windows users are using one or another cloud file storage services to store important documents, pictures, and files. With the recent launch of Google Drive, Cubby, and desktop client for SkyDrive, users now have multiple cloud services to choose from.

If you are using a cloud service, chances are that you have uploaded your crucial files to the cloud and always like to save files in the cloud. As you know, to save a file from the web to a cloud service, we first need to download the file onto our PCs and then take the help of desktop client of the service or the web interface to upload the file. Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a way to directly save files from the browser to the cloud?

Cloud Save is an extension for Google Chrome browser to simplify your cloud life. Cloud Save lets you save files from the browser to your favourite cloud service directly without downloading it to your PC. That is, for example, you can directly download (or should say upload?) a picture to your cloud account with a right-click.

Using the Cloud Save extension is fairly simple. Visit the download page provided at the end of this article from your Chrome browser and then click on Add to Chrome button to install the extension. Once installed, you will see Cloud Save entry when you do a right-click on a webpage.

To save a file, do a right-click on the file that you wish to save and then click on the Cloud Save entry in the context menu to choose the cloud service account that you would like to upload the file to. Enter required credentials and you are done!

If you want to directly upload a software or any other file from a link, simply do a right-click on the link and then select Cloud Save. Cloud Save shows desktop notifications when a transfer completes.
