Seagate introduced new 10TB hard drives for home users, aimed at helping them to better manage all the digital data they have.
Seagate’s new high capacity hard drives are assembled under the Guardian Series and consist of three devices: the Seagate BarraCuda Pro desktop drive, Seagate IronWolf for NAS applications and the Seagate SkyHawk.
Seagate BarraCuda Pro desktop drive
This hard drive is high-capacity storage at an affordable price. The BarraCuda Pro offers 10TB of storage at 7200 RPM for excellent performance and is equipped with power-saving features and comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
The BarraCuda Pro is also a portable device thanks to its 2.5 or 3.5 inches size and 1.4 lbs/650 g weight.
The BarraCuda Pro uses the FireCuda SSHD technology, combining flash with the latest hard drive technology. The FireCuda technology is up to five times faster than its HDD counterpart, making it an excellent choice for gaming and creative applications.
IronWolf 10TB for NAS
The IronWolf is a tough hard drive that offers outstanding performance for NAS applications and a wide range of capabilities designed to meet the most challenging always-on environments. The IronWolf is the first in its class of drives to have rotational vibration (RV) sensors to mitigate vibration in multi-drive systems, and RAID optimization allows it to perform excellently while dealing with demanding tasks.
SkyHawk 10TB for Surveillance
The 10TB SkyHawk is an excellent surveillance driver that can support the razor sharp vision of 64 cameras, more than any other drive on the market can do.
The result is power when and where it’s needed most. IronWolf raises the bar even further with multi-user technology that provides a 180TB/year user workload rate.
The SkyHawk is expected to be released in the fall of 2016, and will have a $459.99 price tag.
